JAVON LADY PHENOMS HAND A1 CHALLENGE A SHOCK LOSS TO THE START OF ROUND TWO IN THE NBL

JAVON LADY PHENOMS:32
A1 CHALLENGE BC: 30

With match day venue changed to UCU courts in Mukono, lots of teams and games
both in the top flight and the lower division were going to be affected.
With YMCA having a one weeks bazaar and Lugogo MTN Arena having other
engagements going on, FUBA had to relocate all NBL games.

A1 Challenge BC had previously had a long day with two of their players both having
their weddings the day before the game; Ms Hatima Kassim and Ms. Stella Nikuze, meant
most of the team was not so well rested. However, that was no reason not to honor the
fixture, and ball.

With games beginning later than they had been scheduled to begin, A1 Challenge BC stepped
on court at 6pm. The game was marred with one of the worst referee calls and controversies.
With at some point both coaches getting technical's, travel calls ignored, and an imbalance
in the way the referee made his decisions.

Down to the game proper, A1 Challenge's offense really struggled so badly all through the game,
and when their scorer on the day, Ms Nanfuka Stella got fouled out and Ntale Vickie injured
after an awkward fall, that was it for the team.

The constant fouling by the A1 Challenge BC kept their opponents on the free throw line, and they had
a better shooting percentage on the line.

By the time of the final whistle, Javon Lady Phenoms were all smiles having gotten their first ever
win over A1 Challenge with a dismal score of 32:30. For A1 Challenge it's back to the drawing table,
as they strategize for the rest of second round and the post season.

Next game is Nkumba Lady Marines on SUN at 1PM.

A1 CHALLENGE LOSE TO UCU LADY CANONS 56:67 IN THEIR FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME.

A1 CHALLENGE LOSE TO UCU LADY CANONS 56:67 IN THEIR FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME.

In a game whose result had no real significance, the tempo started on was intense to say the least.
Ntale Vickie rallied her troops to an early first quarter lead which was pretty comfortable [24:17]

The pressure was maintained through out the second quarter of the game with A1 Challenge still holding
on to the lead [34:28].
Lady Canons opted to use the full court press and put the A1 game transition to a halt and for a moment
the plan seemed to work well. Judith A. Nansobya began sinking 3's with every A1 Challenge defensive lapse and
kept banking them which brought the Lady Canons back to the game with her game high 30points.

With Zainah Lokwameri's relentless work ethic, she scored 15points and Ritah Imanishimwe added 11points which
came in just as the game was heading to the crunch time. This gave UCU Lady Canons the momentum as the game
got to a close.

A1 Challenge's captain led their scoring with 13points to her name, closely assisted by Bazira Liz and Amito Suzan
who each had 10 points a piece.

A close look as the stat sheet; A1 Challenge numbers on the shooting were better than UCU, though they had 19 turnovers
which number has to go down if the team is to go all the way come play offs.

There is no room for sulking and all since #A1Challenge play their first playoff game 2016 against Javon Lady Phenoms
on Friday at 6pm at the YMCA Outdoor Courts. It's back to the drawing board for quick adjustments and the we work
and work real hard.

The quarter final play offs are Best Of Three ties so each team will have those number of games to see off their
opposition and advance to the semi's.

See you this FRIDAY as we face JAVON LADY PHENOMs at 6pm via the YMCA Court. Let the games begin...

A1 CHALLENGE BC LAST REGULAR SEASON CHARGE AS PLAY OFF LOOMS..

This week unfolds before us and in what already is seemingly our busiest week of all season after quite a rest. Our busy week schedule starts this Wednesday with our game against UCU Lady Canons. There is a feel of belief if we continuously work hard at it and together strive to be second to none.

UCU Lady Canons is a tough opponent and have the ability to test any team's mental strength and belief but having said that we are psyched and prepared to play and hustle for nothing short of a win. Of course, every player has to be selfless, believe and work hard and show up in training and game day.

The last time we played UCU Lady Canons we lost [52:64], and we seek to overturn that but of course we can talk about it but have to back that up with hard work. Everyone of the 12 players suited up has to work real hard and play real smart if this is going to be our year.

This weeks fixtures;

Wednesday: #A1Challenge VS #UCU Lady Canons 6PM YMCA

Friday: #A1Challenge VS #JavonLadiesBC 6PM @YMCA

Sunday: #A1Challenge VS #NkumbaLadyMarines 4PM @YMCA

A1 CHALLENGE RESULTS IN A BRIEF...

With just one game in the first round left to play,
A1 Challenge seems to have had a fairly OK first round.
However, critics will push for MORE in consistency and synergy
especially considering the manner of certain awful game performances.

Results over the past month have been received mixed feelings, but surely
there is definitely a lot of room for improvement considering the injuries
that have plagued the A1 Organization together with the national team calendar, we can be optimistic.

If the resurgence for the championship can kick off as early in the second round as we believe can,
then surely we are bound to see great things happen this season. But the million dollar question is, HOW BAD DO WE WANT IT?
This ,however, is so far a good half season report. We can do more. Good going ladies

A1 Challenge Cruise To A Comfortable 78:40 Win Over Magic Stormers.

This game came as a key test up to the depth of Magic Stormers
seeing that their entire team had 6 players which mean't one substitute
for the whole game directly translating into a burn out and fatigue.

Having lost a huge fraction of their players in Belinda Feni and Kalanguka Bridget
to KCCA Leopards and Carol who is off for the year as well as Nado who DNP,
they seemed depleted in their reserves.
Also unavailable for A1 challenge was Racheal Nanyonga, Ondiso Vickie and Desire Obua.

A1 Captain, Ntale Vickie led the assault by scoring a game high 19 points
and picking 9 rebounds closely assisted by Susan Amito
who had a double double in 15 points and 11 rebounds.Joanna Birungi sealed it off with 12 points.

This win is testament to the growth of the team in confidence and trust.
Ofcourse there is still alot of work yet left to do,
like the free throw shooting ought to be more lethal,
reduction on the fouling and turn overs.

It was great seeing all the players get adequate playing time and this will
come in handy when you have to give some breathers and trust
the bench to still take care of business.

Up next in the fixture list is a stern test for the A1 Challenge ladies
as they clash with the UCU Lady Canons on Sunday at 4pm via
Lugogo Indoor Arena.

A1 Challenge See Off The New Comers Javon Ladies 62:48

A1 Challenge was 2 in 2 in as far as the W's are concerned, however,
according to the Ass Coach Andrew Bazira, they were not convincing
wins both of which came against the same opponent in
KIU Rangers with new transfers in Susan Amito and Nikuze Stella showing relentless effort on both sides of the floor.

However, this time around was Bazira Liz's time to stamp her authority
in the game, and this she did. Liz scored a game
high 17points and 9 rebounds with great effort from Susan Amito with 12points
and 5 rebounds to her name. A1 Captain, Ntale Victoria did the finish touch with 11 points.

Javon Ladies guard Nakazibwe Slyvia had a great effort offensively and a couple of steals 13 points
and 4 assists with her team mate Sandra Asiimwe who literally had a explosive end to the game
scoring a team high 16 points with her crunch shooting.
Grace Kusaba added 6 points for the top flight league debutants.

Generally, there was a general team improvement and this by far was the most
convincing of the 3 wins according to the team manager.

A1 Challenge's next assignment is this Sunday 4pm against
the Magic Stormers at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
