A1 Challenge Stun Nabisunsa Girls School

A1 CHALLENGE 82
NABISUNSA GIRLS SCHOOL 50

On a Sunday afternoon where everyone would probably be having a decent lunch with family, both teams were busy understanding tactics on how to go about their opponents.

A1 Challenge, fresh from a win against high flying UCU Lady Canons on Friday night, was riding high in confidence. Josephine the MVP of that game was expected to re-invent the form that saw her nail a last gasp 3 pointer shot to sink the Lady Canons hopes of a thrilling win.

The starting line-up was familiar with Mary leading the tactical orchestration with assistance from Aggie, Sandra and Vicky. Nabisunsa hit by one crucial absentee on their big man had flashes of their tough aggressive defensive game in the first quarter. Their number 7 small guard tried to string a couple of good offensive moves and together with their number 4 who doubled also as their top scorer of the game.

A tight defensive display from Mary and Carol Mugasha saw the Nabisunsa Girls chock on the creativity aspect throughout the game giving away one-to-many turnovers which cost them.
They , however, opted to resort to close range jump shots which didn’t yield much while on the other side of the court sublime passes form Mary tearing apart the Nabisunsa defense on the fast breaks saw the forwards all on the score sheet with decent points to their names. Aggie, Sandra, Maggie and Vicky all had decent displays in the A1’s attacking game. Josephine once again continued with her display of resilience in the attack which greatly paid off.

Conclusively the A1 Challenge was too good on the day for Nabisunsa. It was always going to be an issue of damage control for Nabisunsa. Even the yelling from their coach who was on the touchline for most of the game could not save them.
