A1 CHALLENGE BRUSHES OFF MAKERERE SPARKS RESISTANCE 61:40

A1 CHALLENGE: 61 MAKERERE SPARKS: 40

On paper Makerere Sparks has over the years been a team whose core foundation is hardwork, and A1 Challenge over the years have had to learn this the hard way and their consequential display is testament to that.

After her dismal start to the season, Okot Barbra has so far stepped up her game especially her shooting which is another element of her game we all know she has beneath her arsenal on top of her good overall defensive game. She chose this game to unleash one of her top all round performances in a while amassing 16points to her name.

She was closely joined by their all-round captain dependable Ntale Victoria who since her return to court has been relentless as we all know this is not news, because she simply leads by example week in, week out.

Makerere Sparks Chemutai Joy, since joining from Nabisunsa has been gutsy in her displays which she started showing from way back in her Nabisunsa days. She gunned a game high 20points but that was the only bright thing Coach Albert Aciko could have to focus on. Chemutai Joy was all the Sparks had to offer going forward.

This win for A1 Challenge puts them in a fairly good position after an awkward start to the season. With Coach Jeff Omondi and Mavita Ali being the perfectionists we all know they are, will expect a lot is from this A1 Challenge side and focus will shift on the more experienced players in the camp as well as the new signings in Kisukye Carol, Nassiwa Beckie,Birungi Joan and Obua Desire among others.

A1 CHALLENGE BEAT NKUMBA LADYMARINES IN GAME FOUR AND FIVE CONSECUTIVELY...

#MatchDay #GameFour #A1ChallengeVsNkumbaLadyMarines #ForTheLoveAndTheChallenge #NkumbaLadyMarinesVsA1Challenge #39:49

With three losses in the bag, A1 Challenge couldn't afford a fourth consecutive loss and they made sure that Captain Vickie Ntale was fit and a part of the squad after sitting out Game Two and Game three due to personal reasons.
Ntale Victoria by far the most offensively effective player this season didn't disappoint gunning a game high 18 points and seeing off the Entebbe based Nkumba Lady Marines opposition

With Game five coming in almost thick and fast, Nkumba Lady Marines needed to quickly tighten up loose ends especially being solid in their defense and A1 Challenge needed extra support off the bench.

Like the saying goes, cometh the man cometh the hour. Ntale Victoria was again on target for the former champions gunning a game high 16 points. She, time and again showed her relentless effort when it comes to attacking the basket and making the points count.

Jacqueline and Okot Barbra also contributed 09 and 08 points respectively with the former having a decent defensively display which see's them record back to back wins.

They face another stubborn opponent in Makerere Sparks and they will all need to come to the party from the First quarter to the fourth quarter, especially considering that A1 Challenge are guilty of having slow starts to games and sometimes it plays a huge part in their down fall.

Jeff Omondi and Ms. Mavita Ali will hope the unit can pick it up and keep the winning momentum going on, as the teams confidence grows more and more.
