A1 Challenge See's Off KIU's Sturbborn Resistance 66:52
The action was on by 18:30hrs with both teams having a moments silence for the loss of Maggie Nalubega(A1 Challenge's forward) dad.
A1 Challenge came hard and made their intentions known leading the first quarter 17:9. The hard and physical approach of the KIU Rangers couldn't save the Rangers ladies.
A little effort from Jacqueline, Hanifah and Judith Nanyonga could count for a little effort on the score sheet. The constant yelling from Coach Nimrod on the KIU technical bench talking about calming down the play could not save them. Hanifah scoring a game high 21 points most of them were 3 pointers.
Having said that, A1 Challenge put up a solid team performance and hats off to Ntale Victoria who played her hearts out both defensively and offensively. It is no wonder she scored vital 16 points.
Generally speaking the A1 Challenge team had a rock solid team performance with Bazira Lizzie doing excellently well on the defensive re-bounds department. Assisted majorly by Kabuji Larry.
A case in point is when Bazira Lizzie caught the Rangers defense on the break and executed the quick one-two pass with Mulwana Olivia for quick points on the board.
The closest KIU Rangers came to leveling the scores was in the second quarter when A1 Challenge led by a margin of just a point (26-25).
Coach Geoffrey Omondi carefully using his guards, Carol, Olivia and Slyvia and sparingly utilising the resources that were available.
The final whistle brought an end to one of the league's fierce and physical rivalries. With faint smiles from Olivia and Lizzie after back-to-back wins, said it all. One game at a time.
Score by the quarter (17:9),(26:25),(47:39),(66:52)
Scoring Statistics
Ntale Victoria 16points
Bazira Lizzie 10points
Kabuji Larry 09points
Olivia Mulwana 09points
Aggie 08points
Mariam Birungi 05points
Slyvia Nakazibwe 05points

A1 Challenge Host KIU Rangers at YMCA Courts
It has been a tough week for the entire A1 Challenge family as one of us [Meg Maggie] lost her dad early in the week and it is our prayer that the Good Lord grants us all strength and comfort to cope and heals all our wounds.......Amen
A1 Challenge will however go on and host KIU Rangers today at 18:00hrs. Having played 2 games [1-win, 1-loss] this is the third fixture for A1 Challenge.
This fixture brings memories to the A1 Challenge camp seeing that it is KIU Rangers that ended their winning streak in August 8th 2011, with Bazira Liz scoring a game high 22 points on that day but it was no enough to salvage a win for Team A1.
The line-ups is pretty much similar to the one that efficiently dispatched Nabisunsa Girls last week.
Only that Meg Maggie will not feature in this game.
A1 Challenge have; Ntale Victoria, Khisa Marie, Olivia Mulwana, Kabuji Larry, Dorren Irakoze, Barbara Okot, Kyomugisha Gloria, Birungi Mariam, Mugasha Carol, Kakkazi Carol,Bazira Lizzie, Nakazibwe Slyvia and Aggie among others.
On the technical bench Geoffrey Omondi will be assisted by Mavita Mowzey.
Kick off time is 6:30pm at the YMCA Wandegeya Courts.
Let us make it a date.....

A1 Challenge See's Off Nabisunsa Girls School 91:53 in Game II
A1 Challenge carefully dispatched Nabisunsa Girls School.....which is sweet revenge considering Nabisunsa beat A1 Challenge late last season.
Well this gets the season on track officially as the Camp A1 will seek to build from this victory.
Well won ladies.
Congrats

A1 Challenge See's Off Nabisunsa Girls School 91:53 in Game II
Information reaching our desk has it that Team A1 Challenge has comfortably beaten Nabisunsa Girls School lymphatically 91:53 to get the 2012/13 season officially on track.
This win means alot to Team A1 Challenge especially with the painful loss to Nabisunsa late last season not so far from the minds of ladies. And what a way to come back and make a statement.
Well won ladies...let's now set the standard.
Love y'all A1 Challenge family
Congrats.

A1 Challenge Falter In Season Opener .....But Lots Of Positives to Take
A1 CHALLENGE 50:57 KCCA LEOPARDS
Well it was quite a season opener if you ask me as KCCA Leopards came face to face against A1 Challenge.
Usual suspects featured in this juicy encounter, with Carol Nantalo, Namayega Josephine and Flavia Oketcho all playing vital roles on court and coming off the bench respectively.
KCCA Leopards had a slight edge especially when cohesion as a team is concerned. Flavia Oketcho sinking 14 points and threading a couple of brilliant passes off the defense onto the transition.
Carol Nantalo, Josephine Namayega and Flavia having decent games.
Whatever the A1 Challenge's technical team told the players seemed to work.
Mulwana Olivia and Kyomugisha Gloria rested in the last quarter and Nakazibwe Sylvia was handed the point guard duty and my oh my did it work. She lifted up the team's enthusiasm when she orchestrated beautiful finishes and inter-play with Larresah Kabuji.
There was a beautiful or rather tele-pathy understanding between Kyomugisha Gloria and Maggie, Larresah and Sylvia. But one thing is clear, there is alot of heavy legs which is obviously because the league is just beginning.
The two had a good game both offensively and defensively. Team A1 Challenge presented KCCA Leopard biting their nails as they closed a once 20 point difference to 7 points, which resurgence was in the fourth quarter.
POSITIVES:
Seeing Kikaazi Carol back on court was a huge positive and her presence brings options to Coach Jeff. Her ball handling, movement and game reading ability is priceless. Having featured in hardly four games last season we only hope that her return is a little more long term.
Also returning were Maggie and Aggie returning from their long break since mid-last season and believe you me when these particular ladies get match fit, we wait to see the damage that can be done.
Bazira Liz did not feature in this game, she wasn't even on the substitutes bench. We will try and dig around to figure out why? Having said that, KCCA Leopards also were without their big centre Ms. Hamala Miriam who also was spotted around but didn't play.
Ladies the shooting on the line was alittle disappointing but we can most definitely improve on that during practise.
Coach Jeff will have to stir the A1 Challenge to bring it on HARD from the first quarter till the final whistle, because after that late resurgence, there's no telling what will stop A1 Challenge in this 2012/13 season.
Its on this note that we would love to wish former coach Mr. Nyambogo Hamza all the best in his endeavors and we gladly welcome Mr. Geoffrey Omondi to the A1 Challenge family.
What can we say......we are hopeful and expectant.
Lets make this season memorable because nothing is impossible.
HARD WORK, HUSSLE, LOYALTY, RESPECT and TEAM WORK all for the girl-child.
IF WE BELIEVE IT, AND PERCEIVE IT WE CAN ACHIEVE IT.
