A1 CHALLENGE: 50
LADY CANONS: 80
UCU LADY CANONS LEADING THE BEST OF FIVE SERIES [2-0]
One asks why are we weighed down as though there is no solution, why don't we look up and get inspired?
Inspiration is definitely what the A1 Challenge team was looking for as they came face to face with the number one ranked team in Ugandan basketball as far as the ladies are concerned.
The quest for inspiration is seemingly going to go on for a while seeing that their nervousness in the first two quarters gave out quite a number of turn-overs for which they were punished for, with no reply.
Lorraine Akinyi and Purity Adhiambo were at it again with great assistance from Peace Proscovia who was gave the A1 offense quite a hard time. Maureen Amoding keep the score board ticking with Brenda Mbone and Angella all having decent games.
A familiar face to the A1 team in Sandra, also had some time on court, seeing she has been restricted to limited playing time, coming from the bench for most of the time.
A1 Challenge were missing Larrisah Kabuji, Irakoze Doreen, Khisa Marie and Fredrikah who have been long time absentees. Also missing in action was Mugasha Carol and Olivia Mulwana.
This loss leaves A1 Challenge team with one chance for redemption seeing that the Lady Canons have won 2 games in the best of five series.
What this means is that A1 Challenge has to win all the remaining three games to book a place in the finals.
This is a huge ask, and if the A1 Challenge team is going to pull this off, it has to be seen in every single player that steps on court and is wearing the jersey, their game, their hussle, their team work and how they pick themselves when they are trailing because in this play-off stage CHARACTER and RESILIENCE are surely one of the most tested elements in every basketball player.
Game III is on Friday 16th December at the Lugogo Sports Arena @ 6:30pm.
