A1 BRUSHES OFF GLADIATORS TO FINISH ROUND ONE ON A HIGH...[52:31]


On what was seemingly a tricky opposition, A1 Challenge seemed to fight their way through it all. But again hasn't that been the story of the entire first round. Even when faced with the toughest of opposition, they fight and keep fighting.


By far and wide, the A1 guard in Kyomugisha Gloria had one of the most instrumental games against Gladiators till the damage was done and then she was rested in the fourth quarter. She finished the game with 5 points but that doesn't come close to her over-all contribution in the game.


Offensively, Birungi Mariam came in handy to join captain Vicky Ntale in doing the damage, both having a game high 13 points.

Birungi Mariam's scintillating all round game won her the man-of-the-match accolade. She had a healthy number of steals, rebounds and offensively she was untouchable.

Gladiators huffed and puffed with their big-man Lillian gunning 10 points but thats all that there is to remember in the Gladiators game no disrespect.

Missing in action were a number of players in; Larry Kabuji, Doreen Irakoze, Liz Bazira, Dorcus Bagiire, Angie Lokidi to mention but a few.

This is half way the journey and the ladies promise to keep fit [did i hear an Amen from Khisa Marie] and work together so as to gel as a team and better still as a family.

Big thank you to all those who have been working tirelessly in the A1 Challenge manangement, the team, the fans for making all this possible and come the second round, we urge you to keep on keeping on as together we fight our way to getting our second championship. Yes.....i said it. It's going to be tough but TOGETHER WE CAN......and it's on that note that we say YES WE CAN.
