A1 CHALLENGE'S RESILIENCE SEE THEM EDGE AMAZON RHINO 48:43

In an early morning fixture 09:30am to be precise, a little awkward timing for the A1 ladies ,however , they led comfortably in all the quarters. [13:11, 21:19, 33:30, 48:43]

Great shooting for Nalubega Maggie epitomized the quarters.

Having said this, the Amazon Rhino ladies coached by Vinnie Jurua and Olobo Moses fought as a team, till the last quarter where they seemed to be reckless in the fouling department. They played basic hard defense which saw them stay close to A1 Challenge in the score board area as they pounced on the break where they exploited the gaps left behind by Team A1 Challenge.

Joan and Annie plus their centre Maggie J. had fairly decent games both offensively and defensively, till the fourth quarter when their constant fouls cost them, especially with Joanna being fouled out.

Speaking of being fouled out, Bazira Lizzie of A1 Challenge also was fouled out.

This was so close a game to call with just a minute to go and the difference at one point being down to 3points till Kyomugisha Gloria stepped up and started driving in aggressively and picked fouls which she comfortably converted.

Barbra Okot also had a run-in controlling the pace in the later parts of the game considering the nervy-end, with any mistake seemingly could decide the game.
Anyway for her good ball handling and calm play, it was what she does best, run the clock down, create options pass the ball down, if you get into a good position, go ahead and shoot.

A1 Challenge were constantly being caught on the break where Joanne and Annie scored quite a number of baskets, forcing Coach Jeff to switch the tactics a little.

Vicky Nassolo had another great game, growing into her best shape and scoring a game high 16 points. She had assistance from the likes of Birungi Mariam who also scored 9 points and 7 points from Nalubega Maggie who didn't have alot of playing time but still made vital points when she came on court.

Amazon Rhino's main offensive threats were Joanne, Annie and Jacquei with 13points, 12 points and 7 points respectively.

Great positives for A1 Challenge is their shooting is getting better, however defensively Aggie needs help from Lizzie and Doreen especially when picking rebounds defensively.

A case in point is the high number of turn-overs in the game, that surely could have cost the team. Tighter on the ball and lets have less of the turn-overs, then lastly precision in the shooting-on-the-line area.

Otherwise good hussle ladies....on to the next.

Un-used subs: Fredrikah .M

Notable absentees were Kakkazi Carol and Larrisah K and the long off's in Bagiire Dorcas, Khisa Marie and Lokidi Angella.

In other related news, last nights games saw DMark Power defeat Kyambogo Warriors 71:68 in what i would call mouth-watering game.

Have a great weekend ladies.
